The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior thrower Samuel Alcide and freshman wide receiver/safety Ashlea Klam were recognized for their performances during the week of April 28.

Samuel Alcide, Fourth Year, Throws, Boynton Beach, Florida

• Alcide claimed the Sun Conference Championship in the shot put.
• Posted a result of 14.85m mark to claim gold.
• His result is the top mark among all Sun Conference throwers this season.
• Becomes the fourth Seahawk all-time to earn all-conference honors in the shot put.
• Also, took the Sun Conference Indoor title back in February.

Ashlea Klam, First Year, WR/S, Austin, Texas

• Guided Keiser to its second Sun Conference Tournament Championship over the past weekend.
• Helped the Seahawks defeat the Webber Int'l Warriors, 40-18, in the SUN Semifinals, following that up with a 6-0 victory over Thomas (Ga.) in the championship game.
• Finished the week with six catches for 108 yards and three touchdowns.
• Playing both sides of the ball, Klam also recorded two flag pulls and one sack (-12 yards).
• Opened the Sun Conference Tournament, grabbing four catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns versus the Warriors.
• Notched her 21st receiving touchdown of the season (Keiser school record) for the only score in the 6-0 shutout over the Night Hawks. 
• A First-Team All-Sun Conference selection, Klam has tallied 63 catches for 906 yards and 21 touchdowns.
• Defensively, she has registered nine flag pulls, three pass breakups, and six interceptions in 2024.

Both Alcide and Klam will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (April) award in May which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
