The Keiser Athletic Department announced the 2023 Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Month for the month of October on Friday. This month's winners, junior setter
Hannah Heide and junior defensive back
Wendol Philord, have been recognized for their play during the month.
The Seahawks HHS Athletes of the Month winners will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
Hannah Heide, Third Year, S, Jupiter, Fla.
- A two-time Sun Conference Setter of the Week during the month of October.
- Started in all 11 matches for the Seahawks.
- Helped lead the Seahawks to a 9-2 overall (5-2 SUN) record during the month.
- Led the Seahawks in an eight-match winning streak.
- Averaged 10.39 assists per set during the month.
- Led the Seahawks with 395 assists.
- Recorded 2.92 digs per set, totaling 111 in October.
- Posted six double-doubles over the team's 11 games in the month.
- Tallied 30-or-more assists in eight matches.
- Recorded 50+ assists twice, notching 59 at Webber Int'l (10/7) and 54 versus Coastal Georgia (10/21).
- Scored 53.5 points during the month.
Wendol Philord, Third Year, DB, Miramar, Fla.
- Started in all four games for the Seahawks.
- A three-time Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.
- Closed out the month with 17 total tackles (12 solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss, and one interception (37-yard return for a touchdown versus Southeastern – 10/21).
- He also had four kick returns for 191 yards, including the first kick return for a touchdown in his Keiser career (82 yards at Warner).
- The Keiser return man also netted five punt returns for 165 yards and a touchdown.
- Philord returned his second punt for a touchdown of the season with a 69-yard return at Ave Maria (10/28).
