The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior tennis player Soufiane El Mesbahi and junior pitcher Lizzy Small were recognized for their performances during the week of March 26.

Soufiane El Mesbahi, Fourth Year, Tangier, Morocco

• Named the Sun Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season and the third time in his career.
• Led the Seahawks to wins over Lynn and No. 6 Southeastern on court one in singles and doubles.
• In doubles, he and Didrik Liljekvist defeated another Division II opponent before taking down the No. 7 ranked team in the NAIA.
• Both of his singles matches needed three sets, but El Mesbahi prevailed in each, earning two more ranked wins on the year.

Lizzy Small, Third Year, P/3B, Sarasota, Florida

• Helped Keiser go 5-0 this past week, including a three-game sweep of Ave Maria.
• Went 3-0 from the circle with a 1.24 ERA and five strikeouts.
• Also hit .625 with three runs and four RBI.
• Earned two of her wins versus AMU , including a complete-game victory in Game One.
• Averaged 2.06 strikeouts per seven innings on the week.
• On the year, Small is hitting .371 with 18 runs scored and 24 RBI.
• In the circle, Small has posted a 15-3 record with a 1.72 ERA and 42 strikeouts.

Both El Mesbahi and Small will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (March) awarded in April which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
