The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Thursday. This week's winners, freshman guard Calvin Sirmans and junior forward Elise Ellison were recognized for their performances during the week of January 18.

Calvin Sirmans, First Year, G, Lake Worth, Fla.

• Named Sun Conference Player of the Week.
• Guided the Seahawks to a 1-1 record on the week.
• Sirmans averaged 28.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game on the week.
• Notched a career-high 29 points in an 84-81 overtime win over Southeastern including the game-tying three-pointer with 11 seconds left in the fourth.
• Followed it up with 28 points against Ave Maria on 9-of-17 shooting.
• The now leading scorer for Keiser also ranks No. 7 in the NAIA with 6.2 assists per game.
• Additionally, he ranks 16th in the NAIA for steals per game at 2.4 per contest.

Elise Ellison, Third Year, F, Lexington, Ky.

• Guided Keiser to a 1-1 record in Sun Conference action this past week, shooting nearly 65 percent from the floor while averaging 12 points per game and eight boards. 
• The native of Lexington, Kentucky, opened the week with a 10-point, five-rebound performance at Southeastern.
• She followed that up with her seventh double-double of the season, recording 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Seahawks downed the Gyrenes, 75-66.
• The third-year Seahawks shot a blistering 83.3 percent versus AMU.
• On the year, Ellison is averaging 13.1 points per game (No. 8 in the SUN) and 8.5 boards per contest (No. 3 in the SUN).

Both Sirmans and Ellison will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (January) awarded in February which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
