The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Wednesday. This week's winners, senior infielder Jhamante Woods and sophomore tennis player Violet Apisah were recognized for their performances during the week of April 7.

Jhamante Woods, Fourth Year, INF, Portland, Oregon

• Named Sun Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
• Woods hit .588 on the week with one double and two home runs.
• He currently leads the Sun Conference in batting average (.421), doubles (10), and runs batted in (53).
• The native of Portland, Oregon, has tallied 85 total bases.
• On the year, Woods is hitting .418 with an OPS of 1.223.
• He has recorded eight home runs and 51 RBI.

Violet Apisah, Second Year, Sydney, Australia

• Named the Sun Conference Player of the Week (fifth time this season).
• Apisah guided the Seahawks to a 6-1 win over No. 15 Westcliff on Thursday, April 4.
• In doubles, she and Patricia Apisah defeated No. 16 Anna Ruiz Masip and Elena Gunfaus 6-1.
• In singles, she picked up her 22nd win of the season, defeating No. 20 Ruiz Masip 6-4, 6-0.

Both Woods and Apisah will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (April) awarded in May which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
