The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, junior running back
Jaden Meizinger and sophomore forward
Lauren Riley were recognized for their performances during the week of September 10.
Jaden Meizinger, Third Year, RB, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
- The award marks the first weekly award of the season for Meizinger and the third of his career.
- Was previously named SUN Special Teams Player of the Week in 2022, and a Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week in 2020.
- Posted his first multiple touchdown game of the season with a two-touchdown performance at No. 9 Lindsey Wilson on Saturday.
- Led the Seahawks to their first win over the Blue Raiders as KU improved to 14-7 all-time versus ranked opponents with a 30-26 victory.
- Accounted for 104 all-purpose yards versus the Blue Raiders.
- Gained 69 yards on the ground on 20 carries, including touchdown runs of 14 yards and four yards.
- Saturday's scores increased Meizinger's career touchdown total to 25.
- On the year, Meizinger has registered 118 yards on 32 carries and two touchdowns.
Lauren Riley, So., F, Staffordshire, England
- The award marks the first weekly honor of Riley's career.
- The forward from Staffordshire, England, had a career-best performance on Monday against No. 24 Reinhardt, tallying her first-career hat trick in 41 minutes.
- On Friday against No. 3 William Carey, Riley added her fourth goal in two games with a back-post finish to tie the game at 2-2.
- Two days later, she recorded the first assist of her season on the fourth goal of a 4-0 rout of Tennessee Southern.
Both Meizinger and Riley will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (September) awarded in October which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
