Philord and Heide Named Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week - Week 7

The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, junior defensive back Wendol Philord and junior setter Hannah Heide were recognized for their performances during the week of October 15.

  • Named the Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week for the third time this season and the fifth of his career.
  • A two-time conference Defensive Player of the Week, this is the third Special Teams Player of the Week award of his career.
  • Took the opening kick 82 yards for the score to give Keiser an early 7-0 lead. 
  • The 82-yard return is the second longest in the Sun Conference this season and tied for the fourth longest in Keiser history.
  • It was the first kick return for a touchdown for Philord, who is now the only Keiser player in program history to return a kickoff, a punt, an interception, and a fumble for a touchdown. 
  • On Saturday, he also registered a 26-yard punt return to finish the day with 108 return yards. 
  • Philord is one of only two players this season in the NAIA to record both a kick return and a punt return for a touchdown.
  • This season, Philord ranks No. 13 in the NAIA in yards per kick return (26.0) and is No. 3 in the NAIA in yards per punt return (17.5).
  • He also led the team in total tackles (7) with 1.0 TFL, and one pass breakup versus the Royals.

  • Named the SUN Setter of the Week for the fourth time this season and the 11th of her career.  
  • Registered 161 assists this past week to help lead Keiser to a 5-0 (1-0 SUN) record. 
  • Averaging 10.06 assists per set, Heide increased her season total to 1,105, leading both the Sun Conference and the NAIA.
  • She is second in the conference in assists per set this season (9.36). 
  • Heide has now tallied 3,874 career assists - 101 shy of becoming the school's all-time leader (Brooklyn VandeHei - 3,975). 
  • She also posted two double-doubles this past week to move her season total to 15.
 
 

Both Philord and Heide will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (October) awarded in November which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
