The Keiser Athletic Department announced the 2023 Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Month for the month of September on Tuesday. This month's winners, sophomore outside hitter
Brooklynn Slater and junior running back
Jaden Meizinger, have been recognized for their play during the past month.
The Seahawks HHS Athletes of the Month winners will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
Brooklynn Slater, Second Year, OH, Las Vegas, Nev.
- Led the Seahawks to a 19-7 record (3-2 SUN).
- Appeared in all 26 matches (95 sets).
- Finished the month with 415 kills, leading the NAIA.
- Averaged 4.37 kills per set with an attack percentage of .211.
- Produced 22 matches with double-digit kills.
- Reached 20 kills in six matches.
- Earned three Sun Conference Attacker of the Week honors.
- Posted three straight matches with 20+ kills (9/20-9/30).
- Also recorded 26 service aces.
Jaden Meizinger, Third Year, RB, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
- Started in all four games for the Seahawks.
- A two-time Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
- Rushed for 351 yards and recorded eight rushing touchdowns (No. 5 in the NAIA).
- Scored at least two touchdowns in three straight games (9/9-9/30).
- Tied the school record for rushing touchdowns in a single game, recording four in the Seahawks' 44-12 win over the Thomas (Ga.) Night Hawks on Saturday night.
- Rushed for 153 yards on 17 carries on the night.
- It was the seventh 100-yard rushing game of his career and was the sixth-highest rushing total of his collegiate career.
