The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. This week's winners, Patrick Jones and Maggie Miller, were recognized for their standout performances during the week of Feb 22nd.

Patrick Jones, Third Year, 125 lbs, Wellington, Fla.

• Captured the AAC Championship at 125 lbs
• Went 3-0 on the weekend
• Recorded one pin and two technical falls
• Won semifinal by tech fall (21-3) over Brandon Didat (Pikeville)
• Won AAC title match by tech fall (19-4) over Tyler Ramos (Truett-McConnell)
• Scored 20 team points, leading the team in scoring
• Earned All-Conference honors
• Secured an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships
• Helped lead Keiser to a program-best 3rd place team finish

 

Maggie Miller, Fourth Year, Pitcher, Long Island, NY

• Went 3-0 in three appearances (two starts)
• Posted a 1.66 ERA across 12.2 innings pitched
• Allowed just three earned runs on nine hits
• Struck out seven while walking only two
• Threw one complete game shutout
• Held opponents to a .204 batting average
• Anchored a pitching staff that went 5-1 on the week with a 2.10 team ERA

Both Jones and Miller will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (February) award in March.
