The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior goalkeeper
Santiago Nebot and senior forward
Maria Vilhena, were recognized for their performances during the week of Sept. 28.
Santiago Nebot, Fifth Year, GK, Valencia, Spain
- Earned his first SUN Defensive Player of the Week honor this season
- It was the fourth overall in his career
- Played a key role in both games, keeping clean sheets in each contest
- Collected 5 saves over the two matches
- Improve to 6–0–0 on the year and contributes to the team's fifth shutout of the season
Maria Vilhena, Fourth Year, F, Faro, Portugal
- Named the Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week
- It marked the second weekly conference honor of her career
- Scored a hat trick in 14 minutes of game time against (rv) Southeastern
- Her first goal came in the fifth minute before scoring two goals off corners in before the 18th minute
- On Saturday, she scored the eventual game winner to bring her season total to seven
- Vilhena now leads the team in points and is tied for the team lead in goals scored
Both Vilhena and Nebot will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (September) award in October.
