The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior quarterback
Shea Spencer and senior forward
Lauren Riley, were recognized for their performances during the week of Sept. 21.
Shea Spencer, Fourth Year, QB, Vero Beach, Fla.
- Named this week's Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week
- Led the Keiser offense to 42 points versus the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots on Saturday as the Seahawks improved to 3-0 on the year
- Completing 19-of-30 passes for 222 yards, Spencer tossed three TD passes to increase his career total to 57
- It was also the 11th time in program history a QB has registered three passing touchdowns in a game
- It also marked the 17th game Spencer has thrown for over 200 yards
- He threw a 71-yad touchdown pass to Maurico Porcha on Saturday which tied for the fourth-longest TD pass in Keiser history - Spencer has completed a 71-yard TD pass three times in his career
- He leads the conference in completion percentage (66.2 percent)
- On the year, Spencer has completed 47-of-71 passes for 487 yards and four touchdowns
Lauren Riley, Fourth Year, F, Staffordshire, England
- Named this week's Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week
- Scored the first goal of the game against Ave Maria and New College of Florida
- Her four goals on the year rank second on the team
- She has now scored in three consecutive games for the fourth time in her career
Both Riley and Spencer will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (September) award in October.
