The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, Camerin James and Avrie Schmidt, were recognized for their standout performances during the week of Dec. 21st.

 
Camerin James, Third Year, Forward/Guard, Apopka, Fla.​

• James delivered a strong two-game stretch, averaging 18.5 points per game
• Shot an efficient 66.7% from the field and 71.4% from three-point range in wins over Morningside and Olivet Nazarene
• He scored a game-high 23 points against Morningside on 8-of-10 shooting, including 3-of-4 from deep
• Followed it up with a balanced 14-point, 12-rebound double-double versus Olivet Nazarene
• James continues to lead the Seahawks in scoring and is shooting 52% from the field this season.

   

Avrie Schmidt, Fourth Year, Guard, Rock Island, Ill.​

• Guided Keiser to 1-1 record in the West Palm Beach Invitational 
• Scored 16 points and had six rebounds versus St. Ambrose in 75-70 win for the Seahawks
• She shot 69.0 percent from the floor and was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line versus the Fighting Bees
• Followed that up with a 10-point performance versus Morningside., shooting 50.0 percent from the floor
• Finished the week averaging 13.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per contest
• Totaled three assists, two blocked shots and two steals while shooting 54.5 percent for the week.

Both James and Schmidt will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (December) award in January.
