The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, junior tennis player Violet Apisah and junior right-handed pitcher Kyle Keyes were recognized for their performances during the week of February 2.

Kyle Keyes, Third Year, RHP, Sandy, Utah

• Led Keiser to a series sweep of the Grace Lancers with a 6-1 win on Saturday
• Made his Seahawks debut, allowing just two hits in 8.0 innings of action 
• Held a no-hitter through six innings, allowing just one run in the contest
• Recorded three strikeouts win no walks allowed
• Threw a total of 70 pitches in 8.0 innings
• Finished the day with a 1.13 ERA while holding the Lancers to an .080 team batting average

Violet Apisah, Third Year, Sydney, Australia

• Led the Seahawk to their second ITA NAIA National Women's Team Indoor Championship
• Claimed the title with a 4-1 win over No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett
• Keiser also defeated No. 6 Tennessee Wesleyan (5-0) and No. 3 Xavier (La.) (4-0) during the three-day tournament
• Apsiah went 2-0 in singles action (No. 1 position) as well as 2-0 in doubles play
• Posted a 6-0, 6-0 win over No. 19 Olivia Alcala (TWU) on Friday in the quarterfinals
• Grabbed a 6-1, 6-0 win No. 20 Alexandra Melnikova (GGC) in the championship
• On the year, Apisah is 15-0 in singles (3-0 dual matches)
• She is 2-1 in double action with her sister Patricia and holds an overall mark of 6-1 in doubles this season

Both Keyes and Apisah will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (February) award in March.
