The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior swimmer Ines Laurent and senior wrestler Miguel Hernandez were recognized for their performances during the week of January 19.

Miguel Hernandez, Fourth Year, 165, Dade City, Fla.

• Produced the top finish for the Seahawks during the Southeastern Open on Saturday
• Placed third in the 165 bracket with a 4-1 record
• Championship Round 1: won by fall over Hamzah Mohamad (Southeastern) (2:10)
• Quarterfinal: won by tech fall over Rashon Hines (Florida A&M) (19-1)
• Semifinal: Lost to Gavin Balmecada (Life)  (7-3)
• Consolation Semifinal: won by decision over Peyton Brooks (Life) (6-1)
• 3rd Place Match: won by decision over Ty Rodriguez (Southeastern) (9-4)
• Ranked No. 24 in the NAIA in the 165 weight class

Ines Laurent, Fourth Year, Free/Fly, Lausanne, Switzerland

• Picked up two victories as the Seahawks faced the No. 4-ranked (NCAA Division II) Tampa Spartans
• Won the 50 Free with a time of 24.31
• Also claimed first-place in the 100 Free with a time of 52.07
• Both of her victories with the lone wins for Keiser during the meet
• Currently holds the third-fasted time in the 100 Free (50.64 - Zippy Invitational) in the nation
• Has the nation's fourth-fastest time in the 50 Free (23.42 - Zippy Invitational)

Both Hernandez and Laurent will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (January) award in February.
