The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. This week's winners, sophomore wide receiver Refeno Vangates and junior libero Faith Marquis were recognized for their performances during the week of November 3.

Refeno Vangates, Second Year, WR, Hialeah, Fla.

• Earned Sun Conference POW honors for the second time this season
• Was a "big play" spark for the No. 1-ranked Seahawks on Saturday, producing two touchdowns, including a 75-yard kick return for a touchdown in a 34-20 win at Webber Int'l
• Took a WIU kickoff 75 yards to house to give the Seahawks the lead with 11:17 left in the half
• The kick return for a touchdown was Vangates' first of his Keiser career and the first non-offensive touchdown by the Seahawks this season
•  Despite every effort by WIU to kick away from the KU wideout, Vagantes was able to run up on the kick to register the score 
• Vangates was also responsible for the "go-ahead" touchdown in the third with a 71-yard TD reception to give the Seahawks a 27-20 lead with nine seconds left in the quarter
• On the day, he has two kick returns for 105 yards and produced 176 all-purpose yards in the contest
• Vangates is second in the conference and tied for No. 9 in the nation in average yards per return (29.8)

Faith Marquis, Third Year, L, Gainesville, Fla.

• Was named the Sun Conference Defender of the Week for the fourth time this week
• Posted 41 digs in the Seahawks 2-0 week
• She averaged 5.86 overall in the two victories
• Recorded a perfect 1.000 reception percentage
• Added two service aces to her team-leading total of 46
• On the year, Marquis ranks No. 14 in the nation in total digs (562)
• Her 562 total digs are fourth-most in a single season in school history

Both Vangates and Marquis will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (November) award in December.
