The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior forward Jade Simpson and junior quarterback Shea Spencer were recognized for their performances during the week of December 1.

Shea Spencer, Third Year, QB, Vero Beach, Fla.

• Named the NAIA Second Round Most Outstanding Offensive Player
• Led Keiser to a 56-21 win over Pikeville (Ky.) in the NAIA Second Round
• Completed 16-of-24 passes for 259 yards a two touchdowns
• Also scored on a 35-yard touchdown run
• On a pass to Louis Averhart III in the third quarter, he became the all-time leader in Keiser history, surpassing Eli Mathews, who had 5,337 (2018-20)
• He finished the day with 5,371 career passing yards
• On the year, Spencer has thrown for 2,190 with 21 touchdowns
• His single-season total in passing and touchdowns rank No. 3 at Keiser for yards in a season

Jade Simpson, Fourth Year, F, Edfewood, Ky.

• Helped the Seahawks to a 1-1 record during the Keiser Thanksgiving Classic
• Averaged 9.0 points per game and 12.5 rebounds per contest
• Opened the week with a nine-point, 11-rebound performance versus Thomas (Ga)
• Notched a block and a steal in 25 minutes versus the Night Hawks
• The next day, Simpson had nine points and 14 rebounds versus William Carey
• Her 14 rebounds were a career-high at Keiser 
• She also added two steals versus the Crusaders

Both Spencer and Simpson will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (November) award in December.
