The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Tuesday. This week's winners, sophomore wrestler Kei'Sun Sanders and senior forward Jade Simpson were recognized for their performances during the week of November 10.

Kei'Sun Sanders, Second Year, Spring Lake, New Jersey

• Finished 3rd overall in the 285 bracket at the Georgia Open, hosted by Emmanuel University
• Bounced back from a defeat in the championship round by closing out his day with four straight head-to-head wins
• Won by major decision over Jaylin Bien-aime, (Lindsey-Wilson) 16-7 (Round 1)
• Won by fall over Reginald Whyte, (Pikeville), 4:02 (Consolation - Round 3)
• Won by fall over Russell Fickett, (Central Florida), 1:28 (Consolation - Round 5)
• Won by tiebreaker over Abe Preston (Andrew College), TB 2-1  (Consolation - Semifinal)
• Won by major decision over Bryce Wheatley, (Southeastern) 15-3  (Third-Place Match)

Jade Simpson, Fourth Year, F, Edgewood, Kentucky

• Named this week's Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in her Keiser career
• She recorded a double-double against Trinity Baptist in the second game of the season, scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds
• As the starting forward, she totaled 22 rebounds this past week, with nine on the defensive end
• Simpson averaged 11.0 rebounds per game and achieved a .650 field goal percentage
• The Edgewood, Ky., native also contributed six blocks and four steals in her impressive two-game performance
• As a fifth-year senior, she added eight assists to round out her week

Both Sanders and Simpson will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (November) award in December.
