The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, junior Shaheed Alam and junior Violet Apisah were recognized for their performances during the week of October 13.

Shaheed Alam, Third Year, Singapore

• Entered the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia, as the No. 2 overall seed
• Advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Cup for the first time in his career
• Opened the tournament with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Zinovii Nahirniak of William Woods
• Advanced to the quarterfinals to defeat David Leon of Tennessee Wesleyan, 3-6, 6-0, 6-0
• Made first ITA Cup semifinal appearance, falling to (3) Santiago Villarruel of Georgia Gwinnett, 6-2, 3-6, 3-6 
• Earned a berth in this year's ITA Cup after winning the ITA Regional Championship in Lakeland (September 21)
• Ended the fall with a 7-1 overall record

Violet Apisah, Third Year, Sydney, Australia

• Became the second two-time NAIA ITA Singles National Champion in Keiser history (2022, 2024)
• Was just the 16th repeat champion in ITA Cup history
• Entered the tournament as the No. 1 overall seed
• Opened tournament play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Maria Ange Ortega Mateu (Lindsey Wilson)
• Won in straight sets in both the quarterfinals (6-1, 6-0 over Grace's Jimena Ramirez Llorens) and the semifinals (6-2, 6-2 over Georgia Gwinnett's Justine Lespes
• Defeated No. 2 seed Shalimar Talbi (SCAD Atlanta), 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-4, to claim the ITA Cup championship
• Notched a perfect 9-0 record in in singles action this fall

Both Alam and Apisah will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (October) award in November.
