The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior infielder Alejandro Macario and junior Elyse Lavender were recognized for their play during the week of January 29.

Alejandro Macario, Sr., INF, Caracas, Venezuela

• Had nine at-bats on the weekend, recording a .444 batting average.
• Produced five runs, four hits, one home run, four RBI, and four walks.
• Stole two bags versus Brewton-Parker.
• Finished with an on-base percentage of .615.
• Registered a perfect fielding percentage at shortstop on the weekend.

Elyse Lavender, Jr., Boynton Beach, Fla.

• Helped the No. 2-ranked Seahawks open the season with two wins over NCAA DII teams.
• Defeated the top player in NCAA Division II (Deniz Khazan), 6-1, 6-3, for her first singles victory as a Seahawk.
• Her play help guide Keiser to a victory over Barry - the No. 1-ranked team in NCAA Division II.
• Also claimed a doubles victory in the Barry match, teaming up with Vanja Vidanovic for a 7-5 win over Daniela Farfan and Nathalia Gasparin.

Both Marcario and Lavender will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (January) awarded in early February which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
