The Keiser Athletic Department announced this week's Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Week on Monday. This week's winners, senior forward Justin Tucker and junior forward Janiece Thomas were recognized for their play during the week of January 8.

Justin Tucker, Sr., F, Orlando, Fla.

• Guided Keiser to a 3-0 mark last week.
• Averaged 14.0 points per game and 9.0 rebounds per contest.
• Finished the week a perfect 10-of-10 from the free-throw line.
• Shot 55.6 from the floor on 17-of-29 over the last three games.
• Scored 17 points and grabbed nine boards in a 20-point win over Great Lakes Christian.
• Posted a double-double versus Florida National with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
• On the year, Tucker is averaging 14.4 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per contest.

Janiece Thomas, Jr., F, Aurora, Ill.

• Helped lead Keiser to a 2-0 record this past week.
• Shot 69.2 percent from the floor while nearly averaging a double-double for the week.
• Opened the week shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field as Keiser downed Sun Conference foe Coastal Georgia for the team's fourth straight home win, 72-60.
• Followed that performance up with her first double-double as a Seahawks, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 21 minutes of action as KU dismantled the Florida National Conquistadors, 83-58. 
•  Recorded for steals and five assists during the week.
• On the year, Thomas is averaging 6.1 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per contest.

Both Tucker and Thomas will now be in the running for the Keiser Athlete of the Month (January) awarded in early February which will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
