Sun Conference Championship – Day 1

The Keiser men's indoor track & field team delivered a dominant opening day at the Sun Conference Championship, finishing Friday in third place with 62 points, highlighted by multiple event titles, a school record, and national qualifying marks.
Casey Wood headlined the day with a championship performance in the shot put, winning the event with a throw of 17.26 meters, setting a new school record and achieving the NAIA A standard. Christian Nicolas added a third-place finish in the event, while Landon Campbell placed eighth to add additional points.
On the track, the Seahawks captured two more individual titles. Jesse Songo won the 5,000 meters in 14:52.17, while Adrian Rivadulla claimed the 800-meter title with a time of 1:51.89, meeting the NAIA A standard.
In the sprints, Dallas Desouza earned a second-place finish in the 400 meters (49.08), and the Seahawks closed the evening with another victory in the 4K Distance Medley Relay, as Desouza, Rivadulla, Songo, and Othmane Gharassi, combined to win in 10:18.62. Keiser also earned a third-place finish in the mixed 4x400 relay, crossing the line in 3:46.51 to add valuable team points.
The Seahawks enter day two with strong momentum as they continue their push in the team standings.
