The Sun Conference announced its nominees for six NAIA National Awards Day honors on Thursday as voted by league membership.
Emelia O'Gilvie was selected as the conference's Women's Emil S. Liston Award Nominee.
Named in honor of the NAIA's first executive secretary and the prime mover behind the men's basketball tournament, this award has been presented annually since 1950 to one junior men's and women's basketball player who has shown high athletic and scholastic achievement.
A Sport Management major with a 3.9 GPA, O'Gilvie has excelled both academically and athletically while serving as a leader for the Seahawks. A team captain, she has distinguished herself through her work ethic, leadership, and dedication both in the classroom and on the court. As noted in her nomination, O'Gilvie is recognized for her commitment to academic excellence, high basketball IQ, versatility, and ability to elevate those around her, making her an exemplary representative of the values embodied by the Emil S. Liston Scholarship Award.

- Appeared in 26 games for the Seahawks, making 11 starts
- Averaged 8.0 points per game during her junior season
- Recorded a team-leading 94 assists, averaging 3.6 per game
- Ranked second on the team in rebounds, averaging 6.0 per game
- Scored a season-high of 20 points versus St. Thomas (01/24)
When asked about O'Gilvie, Head Coach
Matthew Strickland had this to say, "Emelia embodies everything you hope for in a student-athlete. Her leadership, work ethic, and character have made a lasting impact on our program, and I have no doubt she'll continue to achieve great things both on and off the court."
O'Gilvie will advance to the national award voting. The winner will be announced on September 15.
