Keiser's Paul Dodson Voted 2025-26 SUN Sports Information Director of the Year

The Sun Conference is pleased to announce that Keiser University Assistant Athletics Director of Communications Paul Dodson has been named the 2025-26 Sun Conference Sports Information Director of the Year, as voted on by his peers across the league. The honor marks the third conference SID of the Year award of Dodson's career after previously earning the distinction in 2022-23 at Keiser University and 2018-19 while at Johnson & Wales University.

Dodson oversees Keiser University's communications department and leads the promotion of the Seahawks' 27 varsity sports through media relations, statistical reporting, social media, website management, creative content, and video live streaming efforts.

"I'm incredibly honored to be named the Sun Conference Sports Information Director of the Year," Dodson commented. "This recognition means a great deal to me, but it's important to say that this award belongs just as much to our staff as it does to me. Ryan Garcia, Sophia Nduwayo, Danny Salamon, and Brandon Adams work tirelessly behind the scenes every single day to tell the stories of our student-athletes and represent Keiser Athletics at the highest level. Their passion, creativity, and commitment are what make our department special, and I'm fortunate to work alongside them.

"I'm grateful to the Sun Conference, Director of Athletics Kris Swogger, our administration, coaches, and student-athletes for their continued support, and I'm proud of everything we've accomplished together."

During the 2025-26 academic year, Dodson and the Keiser communications staff supported one of the most successful athletic campaigns in program history. Keiser claimed The Sun Conference Commissioner's Cup for the second consecutive year and sixth time overall while finishing third in the final NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup standings.

The Seahawks captured five NAIA National Championships in women's soccer, women's swimming & diving, men's swimming & diving, men's lacrosse, and women's tennis, while also earning a national runner-up finish in football. Keiser additionally secured conference championships across numerous sports, further establishing itself among the nation's premier athletic programs.

The communications department also assisted in the operations, coverage, and promotion of several Sun Conference championship events during the 2025-26 academic year, including the Men's Soccer Championship, Men's Basketball Championship, and Women's Lacrosse Championship.

"Paul is incredibly deserving of this recognition, and his selection as the 2025-26 Sun Conference Sports Information Director of the Year speaks to the professionalism, consistency, and care he brings to his work every day," Sun Conference Commissioner Dustin Wilke said. "His dedication to telling the stories of student-athletes, coaches, and member institutions has made a meaningful impact across The Sun Conference, and we are proud to celebrate this well-earned honor."

Beyond his responsibilities at Keiser, Dodson served as Chairperson of The Sun Conference Sports Information Committee and represented the conference on the NAIA-SIDA Continuing Education Committee during the 2025-26 academic year.

Dodson will now move forward to the national ballot for the NAIA Sports Information Director of the Year Award, which will be announced on September 15.
