Paul Dodson, who has worked in sports information/media relations for nearly 30 years, enters his sixth year as the assistant athletic director for communications at Keiser University. Serving as the primary media a public relations contact for the Seahawks Athletic Department, he is responsible for the coverage of football, Esports, cheer and dance, flag football, men's lacrosse, and men's and women's golf. Dodson is a three-time Sun Conference SID of the Year (2018-19, 2022-23, 2025-26).
He oversees the Keiser Athletics streaming efforts (SUN Digital Network/Keiser Sports Network) with the assistance of the assistant director of broadcast media, works closely the office graphic designer in the development of the look work within the athletic department, and oversees the day-to-day media relations responsibilities for the school’s 27 intercollegiate sports, including the coverage of 20 NAIA National Championship (since his arrival in August of 2021).
Named the Sun Conference sports information liaison prior to the 2025-26 season, Dodson is a member of the NAIA-SIDA Continuing Education Committee and in the chair of the Sun Conference Broadcast Branding Subcommittee.
Dodson, who also previously served as the director of communications for The Sun Conference, came to KU after spending one year as the sports information director at Florida National University. In his role with the Sun Conference, Dodson served as the primary media and public relations contact for The Sun Conference since August 2020. He oversaw the day-to-day media responsibilities for the conference while working closely with each of the league's 11 schools in the promotions of their brands. He also oversaw the conference's video streaming efforts and the leagues official website (www.thesunconference.com).
Prior to his tenure at Florida National University, Dodson served as the sports information director and coordinator of athletics facilities & operations at Johnson & Wales (Fla.) for two years.
Responsible for publicizing the Wildcat's 11 intercollegiate programs, Dodson oversaw the school's game-day operations for all home events, supervising JWU's student workers. After completing his first full season with the Wildcats, Dodson was named the 2018-19 Sun Conference SID of the Year. He also served as the conference SID for women's basketball, men's and women's track & field, and softball and was an integral part of the redesign of the Sun Conference's Official Site during the spring of 2019.
Dodson came to JWU after spending seven years as the assistant athletic director for media relations at Florida International University (FIU). During his time at FIU, Dodson served as the primary media and public relations contact for the Athletic Department as well as oversaw the day-to-day media relations' responsibilities for the school's 18 intercollegiate sports. He worked with several high-profile coaches, athletes and media personalities, including football coach Butch Davis and NBA Hall of Famer Isaiah Thomas. He was responsible for the creation of FIU's digital network (PantherVision) and spearheaded the creation of FIU social media channels.
His nearly three decades of experience in the sports industry has seen stops at Delaware State (2008-09 as assistant athletic director for media relations), the University of South Florida (2004-07 as assistant sports information director), the Women's United Soccer Association (2002-03 as manager, sports communications), and the Tampa Bay Mutiny (2000-02 as coordinator, media relations).
Dodson began his career in collegiate athletics as a student in the University of Miami sports information office followed by internships at the University of Kansas (1998-99) and the University of South Florida (1999-00). A graduate of Miami (Fla.), Dodson received his bachelor's degree in English in 1998.
