TAMPA, Fla. — The Keiser University men's outdoor track and field team competed at the University of South Florida Alumni Invitational on March 20–21, with distance standout Jesse Songo delivering the highlight of the meet by claiming a commanding first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.
Songo crossed the finish line in 14:46.15 to take the top spot in the 5,000m, continuing his outstanding form from the indoor season where he captured the Sun Conference title in the event. He returned on Saturday to add a sixth-place finish in the 1,500 meters, clocking a 3:56.98 and showcasing his versatility and endurance across the distance events. Fellow distance runner Adrian Rivadulla complemented Songo's efforts with a record-breaking performance in the 800m run, placing eighth with a time of 1:51.59. His mark set a new Keiser school record and met the NAIA B standard, adding to an impressive weekend for the Seahawks' middle-distance group.
In the field events, the Seahawks were led by a strong showing in the javelin. Claudio Pugnetti posted a throw of 59.71 meters to earn sixth place, while Arthur Dupuy added a 10th-place finish with a mark of 55.18m. Hugo Biget competed in the long jump, finishing 15th with a leap of 7.04 meters, and Christian Nicolas recorded 14.69m in the shot put for 11th place. Nicolas also returned on Saturday to compete in the discus, throwing 39.74m to place 24th.
Charlem Diable and Sigmund Le Fjeld represented Keiser in the triple jump on Saturday, finishing 14th with a mark of 14.27m and 16th at 14.00m, respectively. In the hurdles, Giancarlo Vecchio ran a 56.28 in the 400m hurdles to place 17th on Friday, and Rameau Estime posted a 14.65 in the 110m hurdles preliminaries on Saturday, finishing 11th — just outside the top-eight advancement threshold.
In the sprints, Alex Cruz clocked a 10.60 in the 100m dash for 17th place, and Dallas Desouza ran a 47.96 in the 400m dash to place 22nd. The Seahawks relay units also saw action across both days. The 4x100 squad of Desouza, Cruz, Ty Goddard, Dupuy, Biget, and Estime combined to run 41.88 for 14th place, while the 4x400 team of Desouza, Goddard, Rivadulla, Vecchio, and Estime finished 15th with a time of 3:21.31.

The Seahawks will return to competition on Saturday, March 28, traveling to Fort Lauderdale to compete at the Nova Southeastern University Outdoor Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
