ASHEVILLE, N.C. — The Keiser University track & field teams concluded the 2026 outdoor season at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, highlighted by an All-American performance from Claudio Pugnetti and a school-record run from Adrian Rivadulla.
Pugnetti delivered the top finish of the meet for the Seahawks, earning All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the javelin. The sophomore recorded a throw of 61.14m (200-7) against one of the nation's top fields, securing three team points and capping off a standout outdoor campaign that included a Sun Conference title, school record, facility record, and NAIA A-standard mark earlier this season.
Rivadulla turned in one of the strongest performances of the weekend on the track, posting a personal-best and school-record time of 1:50.71 in the 800m prelims. The sophomore finished 10th overall and narrowly missed qualifying for the finals by just 0.20 seconds in a tightly contested race. The event winner crossed the line in 1:48.71, just two seconds ahead of Rivadulla's record-setting effort.
Dallas Desouza also competed on the national stage for the Seahawks, clocking a 48.15 in the 400m prelims to finish 21st overall. The sophomore narrowly missed a spot in the finals by 1.07 seconds, marking his second career appearance at a national championship meet after qualifying during the indoor season.
On the women's side, Romee Van Dam represented Keiser in the 100m hurdles preliminaries, finishing 27th overall with a time of 14.68. The sophomore qualified for nationals after capturing the Sun Conference title earlier this season and meeting the NAIA B standard. Her appearance marked her second trip to nationals this year after also competing during the indoor season in the 60m hurdles.
The national championship meet closes another successful season for the Seahawks, who combined for conference championships, school records, All-Conference honors, national qualifiers, and an NAIA All-American finish throughout the 2026 campaign.
