Aldajuste Sets School Record, Hits A Standard at Visit Gainesville Indoor Classic

Keiser women's indoor track & field competed at the Visit Gainesville Indoor Classic on Friday, highlighted by two school records, a national qualifying mark, and multiple personal-best performances.

Senior Niesha Aldajuste led the Seahawks with a standout performance in the weight throw, placing third overall with a mark of 17.64 meters, setting a new Keiser school record and achieving the NAIA A standard. Aldajuste also added a 10th-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 10.65 meters. Trinity Dorvil contributed in both throwing events, placing 12th in the weight throw (12.33m) and 15th in the shot put (9.73m).

In the field events, Elizabeth Butrica set a school record and personal best in the pole vault, clearing 3.15 meters to finish 10th overall. Makiya Thornton recorded a pair of top-10 finishes, placing 10th in the long jump (5.36m) and eighth in the triple jump (11.25m). Jordane Walter posted a personal record in the long jump (4.55m) and added a triple jump mark of 9.85m.

On the track, Camille Romero continued her strong season with a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters, running a personal-record 2:19.78. Romee Van Dam placed fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.95. Eva Vrancken recorded a personal best in the mile (5:52.12) and also competed in the 3,000 meters. Gracie Zacarias added a personal record in the 200 meters, clocking 26.52, while Gema Del Valle competed in both the 200 and 400 meters.
