Sun Conference Championship – Day 1

The Keiser women's indoor track & field team sits in third place with 28 points following day one of the Sun Conference Championship at the Alachua County Sports & Events Center.

The Seahawks were paced by a pair of runner-up finishes on the day. Elizabeth Butrica earned a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.47 meters to score valuable team points. On the track, Camille Romero delivered another strong championship performance, placing second in the 800 meters with a time of 2:18.64.

In the 400 meters, Gema DelValle added points with an eighth-place finish (1:03.72) and later competed in the 200 meters. Eva Vrancken represented the Seahawks in the 5,000 meters, finishing 11th overall. In the multi-events, Jordane Walter placed eighth in the indoor pentathlon, scoring 2,146 points. Keiser also earned a third-place finish in the mixed 4x400 relay, crossing the line in 3:46.51 to add valuable team points.

Keiser will look to build on its momentum heading into day two of competition.
