The Sun Conference released its softball preseason coaches poll, with Keiser University selected fourth heading into the upcoming season.

The Seahawks received 48 points, finishing just one point behind Coastal Georgia and narrowly outside the top three in what projects to be a tightly contested Sun Conference race. The close margins at the top of the poll underscore the competitive balance expected throughout the league this spring.

Southeastern was chosen as the preseason favorite with 61 points and five first-place votes, followed by St. Thomas with 56 points and three first-place votes. Coastal Georgia placed third with 49 points and one first-place vote, edging Keiser by a single point.

New College was picked fifth with 35 points, while Ave Maria (24 points), Webber (23 points), and Warner (19 points) rounded out the remainder of the poll.

Keiser enters the season looking to build on its recent success and challenge for a spot at the top of the conference standings. With conference play traditionally producing close finishes and postseason implications, the Seahawks are positioned to be a factor in the Sun Conference title race.
