WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Mackenzie Masternak was nearly brilliant in a complete-game effort, but a pair of scrappy runs proved to be just enough for New College of Florida to hand No. 9 Keiser a rare defeat. The Seahawks fell 2-1 in a tightly contested seven-inning battle in West Palm Beach, snapping their 12-game conference winning streak.
For Keiser, it was one of those afternoons where the performance on the mound far outpaced the result on the scoreboard. Masternak went the full seven innings, surrendering just four hits and two runs while inducing ground ball after ground ball, 12 in total, but the Seahawks' offense managed only three hits and a single run against New College starter Dani Ebert, who was sharp all day. Keiser's lone run came in the third inning when Tessa DiPietra singled, stole second, worked her way to third, and scored on a Faith Campos single up the middle. The Seahawks threatened at times, as Faith Campos added a bunt single and two stolen bases and the lineup put runners in scoring position in multiple innings, but could not generate the second run they needed against an Ebert who kept the ball on the ground and stranded Keiser baserunners when it mattered most.

- Keiser falls to 33-3 overall and 12-1 in conference play with the loss.
- Mackenzie Masternak took the complete-game loss, dropping to 20-2 on the season. She allowed just four hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out two and walking one, inducing 12 ground ball outs.
- Faith Campos went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two stolen bases, accounting for Keiser's only run-producing hit.
- Tessa DiPietra went 1-for-2, scored Keiser's lone run, and swiped a base.
- Genesis Iglesias drew a walk and stole a base in the first inning, one of four stolen bases on the day for Keiser.
- Keiser finished with three hits on the afternoon, all singles, and were held without an extra-base hit.
The Seahawks return to action tomorrow when resume their series agaisnt New College, with the doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
