Leading a standout performance by the Keiser defense, sophomore Malik Razz was honored as the Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

• The honor marks the first Sun Conference weekly award of sophomore safety Malik Razz's career
• Razz led the Seahawks with nine total tackles in Saturday's 42-12 win at Cumberlands (Ky.)
• He posted a team-best nine tackles versus the Patriots
• He is averaging 11.0 tackles per game, ranking No. 2 in the Sun Conference and tied for No. 9 in the NAIA, trailing only teammate Eli Bertrand
• The West Palm Beach, Florida, native recorded a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss, as Keiser tied the school record with 14.0 TFLs in the game
• His performance helped KU hold Cumberlands (Ky.) to 246 total yards, well below their 525.0-yard average.
• The Seahawks also limited the Patriots to just 73 rushing yards (entered averaging 268.5 per game).
• Cumberlands (Ky.), averaging 55.5 points per game entering the contest, was held to just 12 points by the Seahawk defense.
