Swimming & Diving Announces Ana Celaya-Hernandez as Diving Coach

Keiser swimming and diving Head Coach Adam Epstein announced on Monday the hiring of Ana Celaya-Hernandez as the diving coach.

"We are lucky to have Coach Ana join us this fall," Epstein said. "Not only did she have a spectacular athletic career, but she has already been coaching at the highest of levels for 3 seasons. We are happy to welcome Coach Ana to the Seahawks family."

"I am thrilled to join the Keiser Swim & Dive team as the Diving Coach," Celaya-Hernandez said. "I look forward to coaching and supporting our student-athletes. Go Seahawks!"

Prior to joining the Seahawks, Celaya Hernandez was a graduate assistant at TCU working as a liaison for the swimming and diving student-athletes with the athletic academic services to make sure student-athletes were succeeding in the classroom. Under the assistance of Celaya Hernandez, David Ekdahl placed 20th in the 3-meter dive at the NCAA Championships and finished 21st in the 1-meter dive.

Celaya-Hernandez competed for four years at Tennessee from 2017-21. As a diver, she competed on 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform. During her senior campaign, Celaya-Hernandez competed in four meets, winning two events. She achieved a career best on the 1-meter (309.60) and 3-meter (331.28). Both those scores placed her ninth in the Tennessee record books at the time. Her 331.28 performance against Georgia on the 3-meter board won her the event (1/23/21).

Her junior year, Celaya-Hernandez qualified for the NCAA Championships on platform, earning CSCAA All-America honors in the event. She finished sixth at the NCAA Zone B Championships on platform, reaching a career-best score of 263.40 in the prelims. That score placed her ninth in school history on platform.

In 2018-19, she competed in every meet and set season-best scores in the final meet of the year.

As a freshman, she made an immediate impact on the boards, qualifying for the NCAA Zone B Championships. She reached the SEC Championship final in her first year on the 3-meter.

Celaya-Hernandez graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor of science in communication in 2021. She later earned her master's degree in higher education leadership from Texas Christian University in 2025.
