Aleksenko Chosen as Sun Conference Male Athlete of the Year

The Sun Conference announced Keiser University men's swimmer Isaiah Aleksenko as the 2025-26 Sun Conference Male Athlete of the Year on Wednesday morning.

The Sun Conference Male Athlete of the Year honors the conference's top male student-athlete based on athletic excellence, accomplishments, leadership, and overall impact throughout the 2025-26 academic year, as voted on by the league's 10 athletic directors.

Aleksenko put together one of the most dominant seasons in NAIA history, earning NAIA Swimmer of the Year honors for the second consecutive season while leading the Seahawks to their seventh NAIA National Championship. He captured seven NAIA national titles, earned eight All-America honors, and helped rewrite the NAIA record book throughout the 2025-26 campaign.

At the NAIA National Championships, Aleksenko broke the NAIA, meet, and pool record in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 45.21, while also setting the NAIA and meet record in the 200 Individual Medley after posting a time of 1:44.48. He also claimed individual national championships in the 100 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley, and 200 Butterfly, while swimming on four record-breaking relay teams, including NAIA-record performances in the 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.

His dominance extended to the conference level, where he was named Sun Conference Swimmer of the Year after another record-setting performance at the conference championships. Aleksenko won conference titles in the 200 Individual Medley, 100 Backstroke, and 200 Butterfly, while helping Keiser establish meet records in all four relay events. He concluded the championship meet with seven Sun Conference All-Conference honors.

Throughout the season, Aleksenko consistently delivered championship-level performances, recording multiple personal bests and top qualifying times while playing a pivotal role in another national championship for the Seahawks. His remarkable accomplishments earned him one of the Sun Conference's highest individual honors.
