The Sun Conference announced its nominees for seven NAIA National Awards Day honors on Monday as voted by league membership. J
Elise Ellison was selected as the conference's Women's Emil S. Liston Award Nominee.
Named in honor of the NAIA's first executive secretary and the prime mover behind the men's basketball tournament, this award has been presented annually since 1950 to one junior men's and women's basketball player who has shown high athletic and scholastic achievement.

- Holds a 4.0 GPA in criminal justice
- Named first-team all-conference for the first time in her careerÂ
- Started in all 29Â games for the Seahawks
- Averaged 12.0 points per game on 54.9 percent shooting from the floor
- Led Keiser in rebounding, averaging 8.7Â boards per game
When asked about Ellison, Head Coach
Pam Oswald  had this to say, "Elise is highly respected by her teammates, peers, faculty, and staff at Keiser University for her passion in the classroom and a strong dedication to working hard in whatever task lies before her that she has impressed and influenced those around her. She is an invaluable asset to our program because she not only wants to be the best and work hard, but she wants to do it the right way with pride, integrity, and loyalty."
Ellison will advance to the national award voting with the winner being announced on September 15.
