Softball Faces No. 10 Campbellsvile in Home Opener

The Keiser softball team will battle No. 10 Campbellsville this weekend in the Seahawks first home doubleheader of the 2022 season.

The Tigers hold a 2-0 advantage all-time against the Seahawks.
The last time these two teams faced each other was February 16, 2019, Campbellsville won the contest in extra innings, 4-3.
In the two meetings prior to Saturday, both have been played on neutral sites.

Keiser enters its sixth season under head coach Terri Knecht after finishing the 2021 season with a 20-22 overall record, including a 12-12 mark in conference play.
Nine newcomers will suit up in a Seahawks uniform for the first time on Saturday.
Last season Campbellsville made it to the NAIA Opening round and fell to Olivet Nazarene 7-4 in the championship matchup.
At the plate, the Tigers are led by 2021 Mid-South Conference player of the year Ryley Whitey. Whitney finished the regular season with a .444 batting average, nine home runs, 48 RBI, 15 doubles, 19 walks, and slugged .716.
In the circle, Campbellsville is led by Katy Chadwell, who compiled a 21-5 record last season, finishing with 2.36 ERA. She also tossed 14 complete games in 151 innings pitched and had 102 punchouts.
Tigers head coach Shannon Wathen was named 2021 Mid-South Coach of the Year, giving her ten in her career.
