WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. The Keiser University softball team dropped a 6-3 decision to the University of the Cumberlands on Wednesday afternoon in Williamsburg, Kentucky, bringing the curtain down on the most successful season in program history. The Seahawks finish 46-10, best in program history, as a five-run second inning by the Patriots proved to be too much to overcome. Macy Schaaf made history during the game, hitting her first career home run with a solo shot in the sixth inning to become the program's all-time career hits leader with 182, surpassing Lizzy Small's previous mark of 181 set from 2022 to 2025. Trinity Rohrer provided a bright spot with an RBI double to left center in the sixth inning, but Keiser could not erase the deficit as the Seahawks' historic run came to an end.

Keiser took an early lead in the first inning when Kaci Kidd tripled down the right field line and scored on a Faith Campos sacrifice fly to right to give the Seahawks a 1-0 advantage. Cumberlands answered in the second with a five-run outburst that put the game away early. The Patriots sent nine batters to the plate in the inning, with Jenna Fabela doubling down the left field line to score a run, Aniyah White reaching on a Kaci Kidd error to plate another, Maleah Clinton singling to shortstop to score a third, and Grace Ross capping the rally with a two-run home run to left field to push the lead to five. Emily Delgado opened the third with a solo home run to left field to extend the advantage to 6-1, and Maggie Miller came on in relief to shut down the Patriots for the remainder of the afternoon. Keiser cut into the deficit in the sixth when Macy Schaaf led off the inning with a solo home run to right center and Trinity Rohrer followed with a two-out RBI double to left center that scored Jordan Brantley, who had walked, to make it 6-3. Keiser went quietly in the seventh as Cumberlands closer Brenna Parker retired the side in order to end the game.
