Patrick is entering his fourth season with the Seahawks. After his first three seasons, Patrick is Northwood's All-Time leading rebounder with 971 rebounds, and third leading scorer of All-Time with 1242 points, shooting 48.5% from the field over his career. Horstmann is one of six players to reach the 1,000-point plateau while playing at Northwood. After his freshman year, he was named the Sun Conference Newcomer of the Year. After his junior season, Patrick was a Third-Team All-American and Academic All-Conference selection.
At Urspringschule HS, Patrick was a four-year starter for the Basketball team. He was a member of Germany's U-16, U-18 & U-20 National teams. His U-18 team went on to win the national championship.
Off the court, Patrick is the Founder and President of Seahawk Connect, along with being a member of the UP Entrepreneurial Society and UP International Business Club. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with his undergraduate work, earning President's and Dean's List every semester. He enjoys reading, watching the news, and spending time with friends and family. He loves being in Florida.
Son of Wolfgang Backfrisch and Ute Hortsmann...Partick is enrolled in the MBA program at Northwood after getting his bachelor's degreee in International Business.
