Keiser women's soccer kept its unbeaten start to the season rolling with a comfortable 2-0 win over Carroll (MT), powered by a pair of goals by Haley Miller - one from the run of play and one from the penalty spot.
Keiser set the tone early, and the pressure paid off just five minutes in. Working off a feed from Blanca Bächi and Delia Letelier, Miller found the back of the net for her second goal of the season. The Seahawks continued to push for the remainder of the half, with Luisa Fontes forcing a pair of saves from distance and Bächi also testing Carroll's goalkeeper Maria Ackerman. Carroll managed a few counters through Makayla Schnabel and Rachel McAllister but never seriously threatened, and Keiser carried a deserved 1-0 lead into the break.
The second half followed much the same script, with Keiser dominating possession. Bächi rattled the post in the 49th minute, and Miller herself headed a free kick off the crossbar shortly after the hour mark. Ackerman kept Carroll within striking distance with several sharp saves - including stops on Fontes and Ida Åkerlind. In the 68th minute Keiser was awarded a penalty kick. Miller stepped up and buried it for her second goal of the night, doubling the lead to 2-0. Carroll pushed for a response through Bailey Koster and Gabrielle Lougen, but Mio Tanaka was up to the task in the Keiser goal, preserving the clean sheet. The match closed with two late yellow cards for Carroll - Emily Winters in the 83rd minute and Brynn Johnson in the 84th - but the result was already well in hand.
