Keiser Volleyball Splits Opening Night at Vette City Classic

Keiser volleyball opened the 2026 Vette City Classic on Friday in Bowling Green, Ky., splitting a pair of five-set matches at Ephram White Gymnasium. The Seahawks lost their opener to Tennessee Wesleyan before defeating Pikeville (KY) in five sets.

Keiser opened the day against Tennessee Wesleyan (5-0), falling 3-2 (18-25, 25-19, 25-27, 25-17, 13-15). Amelia Langelier led the Seahawks with 18 kills while hitting .311, and Hannah Mary Herrick added 11 kills. Mallory Dills paced the offense with 26 assists and seven service aces, while Amie Molina chipped in 22 assists of her own. Makenzi Bennett led all Keiser players with 22 digs, and Addison Chapman topped the Seahawks defensively at the net with six total blocks.

Keiser defeated Pikeville (KY) 3-2 (25-23, 21-25, 16-25, 30-28, 15-12) in the second match of the day, winning after trailing two sets to one.Cece Worsham led the way with a match-high 19 kills, and Daniela Cruz Sánchez added 16 kills while hitting .280. Mallory Dills again ran the offense, dishing out a team-high 36 assists, and Makenzi Bennett recorded 21 digs to go with three service aces. Aubree Valcourt anchored the block with five total stops (one solo, four assisted).

Across the two matches, Worsham and Langelier tied for the team lead with 29 kills apiece, while Dills finished the day with 62 assists and nine service aces. Bennett paced Keiser defensively with 43 digs on the day, and Addison Chapman led the Seahawks with seven total blocks between the two matches.

With the split, Keiser improved to 3-3 on the young season.

Keiser continues Vette City Classic play Saturday against Lindsey Wilson at 10 AM and Fisk University at 12:30 PM.

  • Keiser's match with UPIKE was the first between the two schools as the Seahawks improved to 1-0 in the series history
  • Amie Molina tied her career high in digs with 13 versus Tennessee Wesleyan
