The Keiser volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday on day two of the Keiser Summer Classic at the Student Life Center, opening with a 3-1 win over Texas Wesleyan before dropping a 3-1 decision to No. 14 St. Thomas.
Keiser opened the day with a 25-22, 25-14, 18-25, 25-19 victory over Texas Wesleyan, taking the first two sets before the Rams rallied to force a fourth. In the first all-time meeting between the two teams, Cece Worsham paced the Seahawks offensively, matching Daniela Cruz Sánchez for the team lead with 14 kills. Worsham hit .500 on the day and added three service aces, while Cruz Sánchez hit .294. Setter Mallory Dills orchestrated the Keiser attack with 23 assists, and Amie Molina added 19 of her own. Makenzi Bennett anchored the back row with a match-high 16 digs.
Keiser closed out the tournament versus a familiar foe, falling to No. 14 St. Thomas 3-1 despite taking the opening set. The Bobcats rallied for a 21-25, 25-16, 25-20, 25-15 win in the Silver Bracket Championship Game.
Worsham again led the Seahawks with 14 kills, while Amelia Langelier chipped in 10 kills on a .368 hitting percentage. Cruz Sánchez added 10 kills of her own, and Addison Chapman was efficient, posting seven kills and a .538 hitting percentage. Dills ran the offense with 25 assists, and Bennett led all players with 18 digs.
Across the two matches, Worsham led the Seahawks with 28 kills, while Cruz Sánchez contributed 24. Dills ran the Keiser offense to the tune of 48 assists on the day, and Bennett topped the defense with 34 digs.
The Seahawks will return to action with traip to Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the Vette City Classic August 28-29. Hosted by Lindsey Wilson, the two-day event will pit Keiser against Tennessee Wesleyan (Aug. 28), Pikeville (Aug. 28), Lindsey Wilson (Aug. 29), and Fisk (Aug. 29).

- For the tournament, Cece Worsham averaged a team-best 3.20 kills per set, totaling 48 kills over the last two days
- Worsham also recorded her second double-double of the season and 10th of her Keiser career with 14 kills and 10 digs versus St. Thomas on Saturday
- The senior outside hitter was active defensively, collecting 34 digs
- Daniela Cruz Sánchez had a strong debut weekend with the Seahawks, producing 41 kills (2.93 per set)
- Aubree Valcourt was third on the team in points this past weekend (40.5), hitting .260 with 35 kills and team-best 10 blocks
- Following this weekend's play, Mallory Dills leads the team in assists with 87, averaging 5.80 per set
- Amie Molina is just behind Dills with 62 assists through the first four games
- Libero Makenzi Bennett posted 68 digs for the Seahawks this weekend (4.53 per set)
