Volleyball Opens 2026 Season with a Day One Split at the Keiser Summer Classic

Keiser Volleyball opened the 2026 Keiser Volleyball Classic on Friday, splitting a pair of matches at the Student Life Center. The Seahawks battled No. 9 Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) before bouncing back with a three-set sweep of Point.

Keiser opened the day against No. 9 Mount Vernon Nazarene, falling 3-1 (20-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-23). Daniela Cruz Sánchez led the Seahawks with 12 kills while hitting .360, while Aubree Valcourt added 10 kills and a .316 attack percentage. Mallory Dills paced the offense with 25 assists, and Makenzi Bennett recorded a team-high 20 digs. Addison Chapman led Keiser with three blocks.

The Seahawks responded in their second match of the day, sweeping Point 3-0 (29-27, 27-25, 25-23). Cece Worsham led Keiser with 11 kills and five blocks, while Aubree Valcourt added 10 kills and four blocks. Amie Molina directed the offense with 17 assists, and Makenzi Bennett again led the Seahawks defensively with 14 digs. Mallory Dills added four service aces in the victory.

Across the two matches, Worsham and Valcourt tied for the team lead with 20 kills apiece, while Dills finished the day with 39 assists and Bennett paced the Seahawks with 34 digs. Worsham also led Keiser with six total blocks, while Dills recorded five service aces.

With a 1-1 record, the Seahawks finished second in Pool C and will play in the Silver Bracket beginning at noon on Saturday, August 15. Keiser will face (rv) Texas Wesleyan in the first meeting all-time between the two programs. The other half of the Silver Bracket will feature No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan versus No. 14 St. Thomas.
