WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Keiser University Head Wrestling Coach Cole Manion has announced the hiring of Jovon Mitchell as the program's new assistant wrestling coach.
Mitchell joins the Seahawks after a standout collegiate wrestling career that saw him compete at two of the NAIA's premier programs while achieving success both on the mat and in the classroom.
Most recently, Mitchell competed at Southeastern University during the 2025-26 season, where he earned All-American honors and was recognized as a Scholar All-American. His accomplishments highlighted his commitment to excellence as both a student and athlete while competing against some of the nation's top wrestlers.
Before arriving at Southeastern, Mitchell earned his undergraduate degree from Grand View University, where he trained and competed within one of the NAIA's premier wrestling programs. During his time with the Vikings, Grand View captured three consecutive NAIA National Championships from 2023-25, giving Mitchell firsthand experience within a championship-caliber culture.
Mitchell brings experience from two nationally respected NAIA wrestling programs and has competed alongside and against many of the top wrestlers in the country. His background provides valuable insight into the discipline, preparation, and mindset required to perform at the highest level of collegiate wrestling.
In addition to Mitchell's hiring, the Seahawks have also added Clint Morrisette as a graduate assistant coach. Morrisette joins the program following a standout career at King University, where he was a three-time NCAA Division II National Championships qualifier, a two-year team captain, and King University's all-time wins leader.
"We are excited to welcome both Jovon and Clint to our staff," said Manion. "Having both graduated from Grand View, Jovon and I share many of the same experiences, techniques, and philosophies that have helped produce championship-level wrestlers year after year. Clint brings tremendous leadership experience as a former team captain and King University's all-time wins leader. Together, they will be tremendous assets to our program and will have a positive impact on our student-athletes both on and off the mat."
The additions of Mitchell and Morrisette further strengthen a Keiser coaching staff committed to developing student-athletes on and off the mat. Combined, the pair bring experience from nationally recognized wrestling programs and will play an important role as the Seahawks continue to pursue conference and national success in the years ahead.
