MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – (rv) Keiser Baseball swept a road doubleheader against Florida Memorial at Harry T. Moore Stadium on Friday, winning the opener 11-3 before closing out the afternoon with an 11-0 shutout in run-rule fashion. The Seahawks improve to 33-15 on the season and 17-10 in conference play.

In game one, Florida Memorial struck first with a run in the bottom of the first when Pheron Charlton singled and scored on a Wilber Puertas groundout RBI. Keiser answered in the second with three runs, beginning when Chris Sorge and Tad Brooks drew back-to-back walks and a Maddox Shaver sacrifice bunt moved them up. Avery Doezie reached on a fielding error to score Sorge, Karson Nadal followed with a sacrifice fly to plate Brooks, and Elian Collado capped the frame with an RBI single through the right side to make it 3-1. The Seahawks added two more in the third on RBI doubles from Brooks and Doezie, then pushed the lead to 6-1 in the fourth on a Jeremy Garcia fielder's choice that scored Andres Balart. Keiser broke the game open in the fifth, plating three more on a Doezie RBI single, a Balart sacrifice bunt RBI, and a Collado RBI single up the middle. Two additional runs in the seventh came on a Luis Alvarez fielder's choice RBI and a Ty Martinez RBI single, with Florida Memorial adding two runs of its own in the bottom of the inning on a Nathan Martinez two-RBI single. Austin Taylor was excellent in the complete game, allowing three earned runs on five hits over seven innings while striking out six to improve to 8-1. Doezie paced the offense going 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored, while Brooks went 2-for-2 with two doubles, two walks, and three runs. Collado added three hits and two RBI.

Game two was dominant from the beginning for Keiser. Jake Olsen got things started in the opening frame with a two-run home run to left field, scoring Jeremy Garcia to put Keiser up 2-0. The Seahawks kept rolling in the second, putting up three more runs on an Andres Balart RBI single, an Elian Collado sacrifice fly, and a Tad Brooks groundout RBI. Avery Doezie led off the third with a solo home run to right field, and the inning produced two more runs on a Garcia fielder's choice RBI and a Jake Olsen RBI single to push the lead to 8-0. In the fifth, Luis Alvarez scored on a pair of wild pitches to make it 9-0. Balart put the game away in the sixth, hitting a two-run home run to right field after Maddox Shaver stole second to extend the lead to 11-0. Olsen was the offensive catalyst, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBI, while Balart went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and three RBI.
