MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Seth Broadwell earned the win out of the bullpen and Jake Olsen delivered a two-run double in the ninth inning to put the game away as Keiser defeated Florida Memorial 9-6 on Saturday afternoon at Harry T. Moore Stadium.

Keiser opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning. Jeremy Garcia and Tad Brooks drew back-to-back walks with one out, a passed ball moved both runners up a base, and Maurice Maiquez followed with a two-run single up the middle to give the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage.

Florida Memorial answered in a big way in the third, plating four runs to take the lead. Esteban Jogins and Nathan Martinez led off with back-to-back singles, with Martinez's hit to right pushing Jogins to third. Martinez stole second, Pheron Charlton walked to load the bases, and Armando Ramirez singled to left to score two. Ramirez then stole second while Charlton stole third, Wilber Puertas walked to reload the bases, and Allen Leitner came on in relief. A double play off the bat of Delawrence Moore scored Charlton, and Ray Sobrino followed with an RBI single up the middle to score Ramirez and cap a four-run frame, putting the Lions ahead 4-2.

Keiser tied the game in the fourth with two runs. With two outs, Elian Collado singled up the middle, and Jeremy Garcia followed with a single to left-center, advancing to second on the throw and pushing Collado to third. A fielding error by the shortstop on Tad Brooks's grounder allowed Collado to score, and Jake Olsen singled through the left side to plate Garcia and knot the game at four.

The Seahawks took the lead in the seventh when Avery Doezie reached on a first base error, a pitch hit Maddox Shaver, and Karson Nadal walked to load the bases with nobody out. Chris Sorge, pinch hitting, lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Doezie and put Keiser ahead 5-4.

Florida Memorial responded in the bottom of the seventh to retake the lead. Esteban Jogins singled up the middle and reached third when a throwing error by the catcher followed his stolen base attempt. Nathan Martinez struck out, but Pheron Charlton walked and stole second, and Armando Ramirez was intentionally walked to load the bases. Broadwell came on with the bases loaded and Wilber Puertas greeted him with a two-run double down the right field line to score Jogins and Charlton — both charged to Leitner — giving the Lions a 6-5 edge.

Keiser answered in the eighth with two runs to retake the lead for good. Jake Olsen reached on a shortstop error, and Maurice Maiquez doubled to right-center, moving Olsen to third. Juan Lopez, pinch running for Olsen, scored on an RBI groundout by Avery Doezie, and pinch hitter Luis Alvarez drove in Maiquez on a fielder's choice to put Keiser back on top 7-6.

The Seahawks added two more in the ninth. Florida Memorial reliever Roger Garcia issued a leadoff walk to Jeremy Garcia, and a wild pitch moved him to second before walking Tad Brooks. Jake Billings entered as a pinch runner for Jeremy Garcia, and Sebastian Fernandez came on in relief. Fernandez immediately threw a wild pitch to move Brooks to second and Billings to third, and Olsen followed with a two-run double to right-center to score both and push the final margin to 9-6.

Olsen finished 2-for-5 with a double and three RBI to lead the offense. Maiquez added two hits, including a double with two RBI, while Jeremy Garcia reached base all five times he came to the plate without recording an out.

Keiser finishes the regular season  34-15 overall and 18-10 in conference play.
