WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – (rv) Baseball dropped a heartbreaker Thursday afternoon, falling 5-3 to No. 9 Southeastern (Fla.) in ten innings. The Seahawks move to 24-10 overall and 8-5 in conference play. Keiser held a two-run lead entering the eighth inning as the Fire rallied to earn the extra-inning victory.
After a 90-minute delay due to lightning and field maintenance pushing the first pitch back to 3:30, the Seahawks got things going in the fourth when Jaden Ross came home on a wild pitch from Blake Sandvik to give Keiser a 1-0 lead. Southeastern answered in the fifth when Cooper Ciesielski launched a solo shot to left center to knot it at one. The Seahawks then seized control in the seventh as Avery Doezie doubled to left center to ignite the inning, pinch-hitter Chris Sorge came through with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1, and two batters later, Ty Martinez crossed the plate on a Jeremy Garcia bunt single to push the lead to 3-1.
Southeastern rallied in the eighth, loading the bases against Carson Hawkes before Seth Broadwell entered in relief. Nathanial Hopkins delivered an RBI single to cut it to 3-2, and Armani Cozza followed with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at three heading to extras.
In the tenth, the Fire pushed across two runs on a Dayne Wimberly sacrifice fly and an RBI bunt single from Nathanial Hopkins to take the 5-3 advantage. Broadwell took the loss on the mound, falling to 1-4 on the season.
Doezie led the offense with a double and reached base twice, while Martinez drew three walks and scored in the seventh, and Garcia delivered a clutch RBI bunt single to cap the Seahawks' go-ahead rally. The Seahawks finished with four hits, leaving six runners stranded.

The Seahawks will continue their series with the No. 9-ranked Fire starting at 11:00 AM tomorrow for a doubleheader.
