WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – (rv) Keiser Baseball split a doubleheader with No. 9 Southeastern on Friday at Silvester Jr. Field, winning the opener 10-6 before dropping game two 13-1. The Seahawks move to 25-11 on the season and 9-6 in conference play.

Game one had plenty of fight in it. Southeastern wasted no time getting on the board, plating two runs in the first on a two-run double from Cade Parry through the left side, and added another in the second when Nathanial Hopkins doubled, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored on an Armani Cozza groundout. Keiser answered in a big way in the third. Andres Balart drew a lead-off walk, and after a single from Jake Olsen and another from Jeremy Garcia loaded the bases, a wild pitch scored Balart to get Keiser on the board. Tad Brooks walked to reload the bases, and Jaden Ross followed with an RBI single to right to make it 3-2. Alex Getz then singled through the left side to plate two more, and just like that Keiser had a 4-3 lead. Southeastern fought back in the fourth with three runs of their own, capped by a two-run double from Dayne Wimberly that scored Armani Cozza and Nathanial Hopkins and pushed the visitors back in front at 6-4. Keiser responded with its biggest inning of the day in the fifth — five runs on just two hits, with walks, hit batters, and an error all doing damage. Maddox Shaver reached on an error that scored Jaden Ross, and with the bases loaded Ty Martinez delivered a two-run single to right center to put Keiser ahead for good at 9-6. Jaden Ross then crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the sixth to close out the scoring. Bastyan Hernandez was strong out of the bullpen with 2.2 innings of one unearned run ball to secure the win. Ty Martinez, Alex Getz, and Jeremy Garcia each drove in multiple runs to pace the offense.

Game two was a difficult afternoon. Southeastern got on the board early and often, putting up six runs in the second inning to take control and never looking back. Byler Reither was dominant on the mound, limiting the Seahawks to five hits over seven innings. Chris Sorge provided the only RBI of game two, doubling home the team's lone run in the sixth. The Seahawks will look to bounce back when they return to action tomorrow in the series finale with the Fire.
