TAMPA, Fla. — The Keiser University women's outdoor track and field team used the University of South Florida Alumni Invitational on March 20–21 as an early-season opportunity to build competitive experience, with Camille Romero and Romee Van Dam leading the way for the Seahawks.

Romero headlined the women's performances, finishing 26th in the 800m run with a time of 2:18.84. A key contributor during the indoor season, Romero earned a runner-up finish at the Sun Conference Indoor Championship and represented Keiser at the NAIA Indoor National Championships. She will look to carry that momentum into the outdoor campaign as the season develops.

Van Dam turned in a notable effort in the 100m hurdles preliminaries on Saturday, posting a time of 14.42 to finish 25th. The standout hurdler set a school record in the 60m hurdles during the indoor season and earned a berth at the NAIA Indoor National Championships, and figures to be one of the Seahawks' top performers as the outdoor schedule continues.

Gracie Zacarias gained experience on the track in the 200m dash, clocking a 25.98 in a large and competitive field. In the 400m hurdles on Friday, Gema Del Valle did not finish after entering the event. Del Valle was also slated to anchor the women's 4x400 relay alongside Romero, Zacarias, and Jessica Dixon, though the relay unit was unable to start. Dixon also did not start in the individual 400m dash on Saturday.

The Seahawks will look to build on their early-season work when they head to Fort Lauderdale for the Nova Southeastern University Outdoor Invitational on Saturday, March 28, with competition beginning at 10:00 a.m.
