MT. VERNON, Ga. - The Keiser Seahawks (9-1, 5-0 SUN) sailed to a dominant 34-12 victory over Brewton-Parker College (2-8, 0-3 SUN) on Wednesday.
Keiser set the tone early in the first quarter with an impressive drive, led by the pinpoint accuracy of Ava Wallace. She connected with Olivia Rijo and Sophia Caprio for crucial completions before threading a pass to Ashlea Klam for a 20-yard gain. Wallace then capped off the drive with a 2-yard rushing touchdown at 8:20, putting Keiser on the board first. The Barons answered back with a touchdown of their own, but missed the extra point. Tremesha Harris capitalized by returning the failed extra-point attempt for a defensive PAT, keeping Keiser ahead 8-6 as the quarter wrapped up.
In the second quarter, Wallace struck again with a precise 2-yard touchdown pass to Olivia Rijo at 7:20, widening the gap. Wallace's relentless passing continued, finding Janasia Wilson for another 2-yard touchdown just before halftime. The Seahawks' defense held firm, stifling Brewton-Parker's attempts and securing a 22-6 lead at the break.
The third quarter saw more of Keiser's offensive prowess. Wallace orchestrated a meticulous drive, ending with a one-yard touchdown pass to Sophia Caprio at 2:34. The drive spanned 64 yards, highlighted by a crucial 19-yard pass to Rijo. Despite some ground gains by the Barons, Keiser's defensive front, led by Dakota Moberg, held strong, closing the quarter at 28-6.
In the final quarter, Wallace connected on a 25-yard pass to Moberg, moving deep into Baron territory. Although a key interception by Kennedy Osborn momentarily stalled the Seahawks, they bounced back.
