MONTGOMERY, Ala. – No. 24 Baseball couldn't overcome a three-run fifth inning, falling 5-3 to (rv) Faulkner on Saturday afternoon at Harrison Field. The loss drops the Seahawks to 6-4 on the season.
Keiser grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, but Faulkner quickly responded to tie the game in the bottom half with a solo home run. The Eagles added a run in the third inning, then broke things open with a three-run fifth to build a 5-1 advantage.
The Seahawks battled back in the seventh, cutting the deficit to two runs, but could not bring home base runners. Jake Olsen led the Seahawks, going 3-for-4 and including a double, while Avery Doezie collected two hits and an RBI. Andres Balart added a hit and scored a run.
Keiser finished with seven hits and drew two walks while being hit by three pitches, but stranded nine runners on base. The Seahawks played clean defense with no errors, while Faulkner committed three miscues.
Bastyan Hernandez got the start on the mound for the Seahawks, with Dalin Weatherly and Seth Broadwell working in relief. Broadwell struck out two in a scoreless sixth inning.
