MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Keiser women's basketball team weathered a second-half surge from St. Thomas to secure a 75-70 victory on Saturday afternoon at the Fernandez Family Center, improving to 14-5 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

The Seahawks dominated early, building a commanding 16-5 lead after the first quarter behind a balanced offensive attack. Caidyn Cannon led the way with eight first-quarter points, while Satori Griffin added six as Keiser shot an impressive 52% from the field in the opening period.

Keiser extended their advantage to 34-25 at halftime, with Emelia O'Gilvie heating up for eight second-quarter points, including a pair of three-pointers. The Seahawks maintained a comfortable 49-42 edge heading into the final period.

However, St. Thomas refused to go quietly. The Bobcats opened the fourth quarter on a 10-0 run, cutting the deficit to just two points and forcing Keiser to dig deep down the stretch. The teams traded baskets throughout the final frame, with the game tied at 52-52 midway through the quarter.

The Seahawks responded with clutch plays when it mattered most. Cannon converted key free throws late, while O'Gilvie proved ice-cold from the charity stripe in the closing seconds to seal the victory.
